Ambleen
Your Data & Deletion
Your data is yours, and it lives in your iCloud. We keep no copy of your family's routines, sessions, or any other Ambleen content. Everything in the app is stored in your own Apple iCloud account.
Where your data lives
Everything you put into Ambleen — your routines, steps, kids' profiles, session history, and nudges — is stored in your family's iCloud account via Apple CloudKit. This data is held by Apple under your Apple ID, subject to Apple's own privacy and data-retention policies.
When a parent shares routines with a kid's device, that data travels through Apple's CloudKit sharing infrastructure. It stays within your family's own iCloud — it does not pass through our servers. We keep no copy and have no way to read it.
Export your data
You can export a record of your family's completed routines as a PDF at any time:
- Open Ambleen on the parent's device.
- Tap History in the parent view.
- Tap the export button to generate and share a PDF of your routine history.
The PDF is generated on your device and goes wherever you choose to share it — your files, email, or another app. We never receive a copy.
Delete your data
You have three ways to remove your family's Ambleen data. You can use any one of them, or combine them for a complete removal.
- Delete the Ambleen app from each device. Uninstalling Ambleen from a device removes the app's local data from that device. If you remove it from every device in your family, your local data is gone. Your iCloud copy may persist until you also remove it from iCloud storage (see the third option below).
- Use the in-app reset. In the parent view, go to Settings → Reset local data. This clears Ambleen's locally cached data on that device. It is most useful if the app encounters a data problem and you want a fresh start without uninstalling. It does not delete data on other devices or from iCloud.
- Remove Ambleen data from iCloud. To delete your family's data from iCloud entirely, go to Settings → [your name / Apple ID] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Ambleen and delete the data there. This removes the CloudKit records from Apple's servers. Once deleted from iCloud, the data is not recoverable.
What we can and can't see
Because your routine data lives in your own iCloud, we have no way to read your routines, your children's names, your session history, or anything else your family puts into Ambleen. We simply don't have access to it.
The one area where we (through our third-party service providers) do hold data is purchases: when you buy Ambleen on the App Store, Apple processes payment and holds your billing details. We use RevenueCat to validate your purchase entitlement; RevenueCat holds a pseudonymous app-user identifier and receipt data tied to your purchase.
If you have questions about your purchase record or would like to request deletion of any data RevenueCat holds in connection with your purchase, email us at hello@ambleen.app and we will help.
